Wickham Market 2 - 4 Achilles 14/12/13

Achilles ran out 4-2 winners and maintain their place as leaders of the Senior Division with half of the league fixtures completed.

Andy Coote jinked past 2 defenders in a crowded penalty area and chipped the ball between goalkeeper and the man on the line to open the scoring for Achilles after 35 minutes. Five minutes later Joe Revell found Coote unmarked in the area. Coote turned inside and found the far top corner from 15 yards. Adam Nuttall for Wickham Market was denied before halftime when Jason Bones came out and spread himself and then got up smartly to save John Davis' follow up effort.

Wickham Market pulled one back after 65 minutes, Nuttall heading in from a free kick near the right wing. On 68 minutes, substitute Ben Taylor robbed the full back and produced a delightful chip over the goalkeeper to restore Achilles 2 goal lead. And on 70 minutes Shaun Clarke was played in behind the full back and survived the tackle to make the score 3-2. The goalpost denied Coote his hat trick but Taylor completed the scoring with a glancing header from Robbie Smyth's freekick.
