2012-2013 season

Achilles 1 – 1 Crane Sports 2/2/13

The points were shared as Ipswich rivals Achilles and Crane Sports battled against 3 weeks of inactivity that compounded the heavy conditions. The first chance fell to Jack Wilkinson: his header just skimmed the top corner of the goalposts. Cranes took the lead through ex-Achillian Richard O'Brien who was gifted an open goal from inside the 6 yard area.

Achilles enjoyed the lion's share of possession in the second period but were unable to penetrate Cranes well organised defence. Indeed the best chances fell to the away forwards who brought the best out of Ross Charters in the home goal on three occasions, the second save all the better as he got up again to scoop the ball away from the following up player. With 5 minutes remaining, Achilles equalised. A long throw was headed on by Sean Bell, headed further on by Jack Wilkinson and headed out of the reach of the goalkeeper by Ben Taylor.
