Achilles 1 - 3 Wickham Market 25/1/14

Wickham Market's leading marksman Sam Taylor upset SIL leaders Achilles with a solo goal and two assists. Paul King was the first goalkeeper in action, when he came out bravely to clear from Joe Revell and Jason Bones repeated the manoeuvre at the other end clearing at the feet of John Ince. The opening goal came just before half time. Taylor set off on a run into the home penalty, but despite being forced wide, slid a pass to Arron Pettit to convert at the far post.

Achilles started the second half brightly and equalised, Chris Leys heading in from Robbie Smythe's deep corner. The Ipswich club's joy was shortlived as almost directly from the restart Taylor pounced on a mistake in the Achilles defence to run on and slot the ball under the advancing Jason Bones in the home goal. Achilles made substitutions to chase the game but suffered two injuries and had to finish the match with ten men. Wickham Market exploited the advantage and added a third, Pettit following up to tap in from Taylor's blocked shot.
