Achilles 5 - 2 Leiston St Margarets 1/3/14

Keiron Donovan struck the bar in the opening minutes, but Ben Taylor's follow up was ruled offside. Both sides were committed to attacking football and it was the home side that took the lead, Donovan picking his spot from the corner of the penalty area. Adam Sturman combined well with Joe Revel down the Achilles left and Coote doubled Achilles' lead from Revel's far post cross.

Taylor made it three after 50 minutes and the same player had his powerful shot pushed onto the crossbar by an excellent save by Matthew Hart in the Leiston goal. Adam Webster pulled one back shortly after as Leiston enjoyed their best spell of the match. Adam Sturman then picked out Revel with space in the penalty area and Revel made no mistake with his close range header. In a bizarre incident in the 75th minute a penalty was awarded to Leiston as Jason Bones came through a bunch of players to make a catch from a cross and then Bones was sent off for his protestations. Darryn Van Oene converted the penalty against the replacement keeper.

Achilles seemed to raise their game after being reduced to 10 men and Ben Taylor made it a nap hand firing home from 10 yards.
