Stanton 1 2 Achilles 12/4/14

With the wind at the backs Stanton started strongly and were awarded a penalty in the 5th minute when Michael Campbell broke clear and was pulled down as he rounded the keeper. Cordell Jackson stepped up to despatch the kick. Achilles equalised when a long pass from Leys was headed on by Marc Lowe into the path of Dominic Arnold whose crisp shot from the edge of the penalty area found the bottom corner of the goal. On 43 minutes Andy Coote found space in the 6 yard box but was pulled back by his shirt and Arnold doubled his tally from the spot.

Achilles gained control early into the second half and Ben Mayhew in the Stanton goal produced a fine fingertip save to deny Chris Leys' direct free kick. However, on the hour, Achilles were reduced to ten men when Coote was sent off. Despite the numerical advantage Stanton could not penetrate a solid away defence for which Chris Leys was outstanding and Achilles took 3 valuable points back to Ipswich.
