Achilles 6 - 0 Felixstowe Harpers 3/5/14

There was a large crowd at Salmet Close to see Achilles claim the SIL Senior Division title. Achilles had last won the title in the 1986-7 season when Keith Norton was the manager. Fittingly Keith was there representing the League to present the trophy and individual medals to the players after the match.

Needing only a draw to secure top spot, Achilles were in no mood to sit back and raced to a 4 goal lead in 20 minutes. Liam Hillyard opened the scoring after Joe Revel had found the by-line overlapping on the left wing and the diminutive Dominic Arnold made it two with a far post header again from Revel's cross. Chris Leys scored the third and fourth with headers from corners before Hillyard completed his hat trick with two excellent solo goals cutting in from the left.

Felixstowe Harpers United came more into the game in the second half as Achilles gave appearances to Brent Richards and Sean Bell who had played key roles at the heart of the Achilles defence until struck by injury and there was no further scoring.
