East Bergholt United 2 - 1 Achilles 27/08/2014
Two crosses from the right wing, both turned in by Graeme Butcher at the beginning and end of the first half sealed the victory for the home side. Danny Allan equalised for Achilles in the 35th minute in an evenly contested opening period.
Achilles pressed hard in the 2nd half and came close when Andy Coote, at full stretch, tipped the ball wide and Coote again came close with his head as East Bergholt rode their luck. In the final minutes a 25 yarder from Chris Leys struck the post with the home keeper beaten and then Coote spawned the best chance of the half slamming his shot from close in against the crossbar.
