Chances fell to both sides and Jason Ramsey should have opened the scoring for Westerfield but he failed to find the target when clear of the defence. However, it was Achilles that took a 2-0 lead into the interval with goals from close range by Ben Deacon and Andy Coote. And Coote could have made it three with a header from a corner that just shaved the crossbar.
Westerfield United reorganized and just after half time stunned the home side with two goals in two minutes through Chris Eley and Scott Ramsey to completely turn the game on its head. Achilles struggled to adjust until, after 70 minutes, Deacon made a crossfield run to feed Tom Deller on the right wing. Deller jinked inside the full back and his cross was headed firmly home by Kieran Donovan to steady Achilles nerves and claim the three points.
