Achilles 4 – 1 Haughley United 20/9/14

Three goals in 10 minutes midway through the first period gave Achilles a decisive lead. The first came from a corner that reached the far post where Dean Tourney-Godfrey was waiting to turn the ball into the net unopposed. Five minutes later, Tourney-Godfrey picked up the ball on the centre spot and drilled a delightful pass out to Tom Deller breaking down the right wing. Deller's driven first time cross found Andy Coote who made no mistake with a firm header. Coote nearly scored again soon after but his shot was well blocked by Aaron Mayhew into the path of Tom Fisher who was unlucky to concede an own goal. And Coote made it four just before half time intercepting a wayward back pass.

Haughley United improved after the break as Achilles took their foot off the gas. Aaron Robinson reduced the arrears with a good turn and shot from inside the penalty area. But Achilles spurned several good chances to increase their margin of victory after manager Osborn introduced Lee McGlone and Dominic Arnold to freshen up his attack. Ryan Wraggs struck the crossbar with a 25 yard free kick in the last action of the match.
