Capel Plough 0 - 4 Achilles 27/9/14

Three goals in the first 15 minutes put the visitors in control against a home side who fought hard but on the day were second best after a sporting game well controlled by referee Maurice Scrivener .Ben Deacon gave Achilles the lead in the first minute converting a left wing cross after the home defence had failed to clear then keeper Tom Williams tipped a shot from Keiron Donovan onto the crossbar as the visitors were doing all the attacking. A defensive error let in Dean Tourney - Godfrey who slotted home from 12 yards before Danny Allan fired home from 20 yards after a corner had been punched away by Williams. The home side came more into the match with Joe Revell clearing a shot from Ross Dorward off the line and Doug Mustoe saving a header from Jamie Sandilands. Williams kept out a piledriver from Tourney-Godfrey but was beaten by the same player who shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards for number four.

The home side played better after the break with Adam Rawthorn heading wide and shooting past the post while at the other end Allan shot into the side netting and Dominic Arnold had an effort well saved. Sandilands shot straight at Mustoe before the keeper tipped an effort from Ashley Reilly round the post as the game ended with the visitors deservedly taking the points.
