Achilles 4 - 0 Leiston St Margarets (Senior Cup)
Achilles scored two goals in the first five minutes to set themselves up for a place in the second round of the Suffolk Senior Cup- an audacious lob from distance by Dominic Arnold and an Andy Coote header. Leiston responded and were awarded a penalty for a mistimed tackle by Joe Revel, but Doug Mustoe saved well at the foot of his left hand post. Achilles were then awarded a penalty for a push in the penalty area and Andy Coote sent Gary Lambert the wrong way. Both teams were playing attractive football and Lambert saved well to deny Coote his hat trick before deflecting Joe Revel's effort onto the goal post.
The second half saw more possession by the visitors but they were unable to penetrate an Achilles rear guard dominated by Chris Leys. Indeed, Lambert saw further action saving well from Dean Tourney-Godfrey and Revel before Danny Allan sealed the victory at the second attempt.
