Achilles 1 - 3 Crane Sports 25/10/14
Achilles defence were caught on their heels in the 2nd minute when Tye Webb sprinted in from the left wing to latch onto Liam Woodhouse's through ball and give Crane Sports an early lead. The same player could have extended the lead soon after but keeper Doug Mustoe spread himself well to smother the shot. Achilles rallied and won a number of free kicks from dangerous positions. Dean Tourney-Godfrey tested the goalkeeper from 25 yards and then should have scored from close in just before half time.
Crane Sports added a second just after half time, Maurice Fike pouncing onto a loose ball behind the home back line. The game was put beyond Achilles reach on the hour with the best goal of the match. Danny George made an intelligent run in the inside right channel and lifted the ball neatly over the advancing Mustoe. Good work by Andy Coote took him to the by-line and Keiron Donovan tapped in the cross for the final goalmouth action of the match.
