Stanton 1 - 2 Achilles 15/11/14

Steve Ainsworth in the Stanton goal kept the home side in the game as the first half remained goalless. Achilles best chance fell to Dean Tourney-Godfrey in the 40th minute but his volley from Dominic Arnold's free kick struck the crossbar. Ben Taylor did have the ball in the net on the stroke of half time but the effort was ruled out for offside.

The visitors took the lead just after half time. Andy Coote pounced on a loose pass in the penalty area and slid his shot under the advancing Ainsworth. Achilles went two up shortly after when Tourney-Godrey's dangerous cross went in off a defender. The best goal of the match followed almost immediately. Cordell Jackson brought down a long cross field pass with his chest and thundered a first time volley into the top corner from 20 yards. The introduction of Michael Campbell brightened up Stanton and his pace and strength created several good chances as Achilles faltered in defence. Stanton had the ball in the net when Campbell's 25 yard free kick bounced off the keeper but the follow up was deemed offside. Achilles had further chances to extend their lead but the scorelined remained 2-1 at the final whistle.
