Achilles 3 - 1 Capel Plough 20/12/14
An early Achilles opportunity fell to Joe Revel, but Tom Williams spread himself to block the shot. The home team took the lead in the 5th minute when Tom Deller's cross was not cleared leaving Andy Coote to pick his spot. At the other end Jack Foster dived to his right to save well from Steven Morrison's free kick before Andy Rawthorn ran on to a weak pass back for the leveller.
Achilles went back into the lead soon after half time, Andy Coote out-jumping the defender to convert Deller's cross. Capel Plough could have equalised on two occasions toward the end of the second period only to be denied by smart saves by Foster, the best being to smother Ross Dorward's shot from close in. Achilles finally made the game safe with an excellent goal. Adam Sturman played a couple of one-twos before chipping forward to Ben Deacon whose first time volley gave Williams no chance.
