Bramford United 4 - 0 Achilles 10/1/15

Report from Bramford scribe

Three second half goals ensured the hosts a victory over current league champions Achilles in this action packed match. Bramford won the toss and elected to play with the gusty wind on their backs, but found the ball difficult to control likewise Achilles were struggling at times to get the ball up field. Bramford pressure going forward saw a Cowan corner placed perfectly into the area with Berry in an unmarked position to header home past the static Achilles defence. Achilles pushed forward putting the Bramford defence under pressure with Bramford standing firm.

Was a one goal first time lead enough for Bramford as Achilles had the wind on their backs in the second half? Bramford had other ideas as they kept the ball low whenever possible which saw them pushing forward with a second goal on 64 minutes from P. Dodsworth who slipped the ball past advancing keeper Foster for an easy goal following good build up play. Achilles went on the attack with Bramford's defence under pressure for a spell but again some last ditch tackles and solid defending and Achilles missed chances saw Bramford preserve their lead. With 2 minutes of normal time left a Cowan free kick saw Berry score his second of the match, minutes later the hard working Cowan took full advantage of some woeful Achilles defending to complete a well deserved victory for the hosts.
