Achilles 6 - 2 Stanton 17/1/15
Achilles returned to winning ways, scoring six in an entertaining encounter with Stanton. The visitors had the first chance, but Jack Foster produced a wonderful one handed save from Steve Hissit's close range effort. Achilles opened the scoring through Andy Coote who finished off a flowing move with a tap in and Ben Taylor doubled the lead just before the break.
The second half opened with Stanton in the ascendency and they were rewarded when Cordell Jackson hooked in after David Fletcher's header had rebounded from the goal post. Again for Stanton, the lively Michael Campbell turned past his marker and crossed only for centre half Chris Ley to stun the home crowd with a diving header past his own keeper for the equaliser.
Achilles responded with some excellent football and, with Dominic Arnold at his creative best, added goals from Taylor, Dean Tourney-Godfrey (2) and Coote to complete a convincing victory.
