Stanton 0 - 2 Achilles 3/10/15
Stanton have reserve goalkeeper Mayhew to thank for keeping the score respectable in a game totally dominated by the visitors. Two fine saves from Achilles leading goalscorer Liam Hillyard and safe aerial handling kept the score at 0 – 0 until late in the first half when Mayhew was powerless to prevent Hillyard's dangerous cross from the right being turned in by his own defender. Achilles lost goalkeeper Doug Mustoe to injury and Ricky Deasy took over in goal.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Hillyard causing havoc to the Stanton defence but unable to beat Mayhew. Josh Little's shot shaved the crossbar as Achilles continued to press forward. Gavin Van Oene doubled the visitor's lead from a tight angle at the second (or was it third?) attempt with minutes remaining.
Deasy was relieved that he didn't have a shot to save.
