Achilles kept up the pressure on the league leaders with a comprehensive victory over Wenhaston United. From the kick off, the ball was played forward and a simple one-two between Andy Coote and Lee Grimwood released Coote to put the visitors ahead after only 15 seconds. Further goals from Grimwood and Coote saw Achilles three up at the break.
Coote completed his hat trick at the start of the second period with a dipping shot from outside the penalty area, probably the best goal of the match and Liam Hillyard scored the fifth on the hour. Good opportunities fell to Hillyard, Coote, McCarthy and Van Oene before the latter headed in McCarthy's far post cross and swept in a free kick from the edge of the box. With minutes to go McCarthy cut in from the right to place the ball between the keeper's legs.
