Achilles 6 - 1 Wickham Market 12/3/16
With Crane Sports on Cup duty, Achilles moved up to second place in the SIL senior division after a comfortable 6-1 victory over struggling Wickham Market who remain second bottom. The gap between the sides in the league was evident on the pitch as Achilles mounted attack after attack and only goalkeeper Paul King, goal line clearances and the woodwork kept the score at 0-0 until five minutes before half time. The deadlock was finally broken from a corner Andy Coote converting as the ball ran loose. And shortly afterwards Keiran Donovan found the by line and his cross was headed into the net by Danny Allen for the best goal of the match.
Further goals from Liam Hillyard 2, Lee Grimwood and Allen followed in a second period totally dominated by the home team. Dan Stammers scored the consolation for Wickham Market.
