Achilles won the local derby today away to Ipswich athletic in convincing fashion to pile pressure on east Bergholt at the top of the league after they suffered a 3-0 loss. After an even start with both teams having half chances the first of 9 goals came after 25 mins when the impressive Lee Grimwood turned in the box and found the corner. Lee Grimwood then scored his second 5 minutes later after a good wing play from Daniel Allen. Top goalscorer in the league Liam Hillyard added a third before half time to put the game to bed. Second half saw Liam Hillyard complete his hat trick which takes him to 32 in all competitions. Gavin Vanoene also scoring an impressive hat trick against his former club of last year with his best goal coming from the right and curling a left foot shot into the far corner and Andy Coote finished the scoring list. At the very end athletic nearly scored a consolation goal after a poor pass back but a great save from jack foster then a goal line clearance from Daniel Pryke kept the clean sheet intact.
