Achilles started the better and Capel custodian Tom Williams made two fine saves from Gavin Van Oene and Lee Gimwood, but in the 10th minute was powerless to prevent Liam Hillyard opening the scoring for the home side. Achilles doubled their lead when David Grimwood burst through the middle and passed to Van Oene who beat Williams at the near post. It was all Achilles but Capel gained new heart when Shaun Webb pounced on a fumble by the Achilles goalkeeper to reduce the deficit and later a curling free kick by Stephen Morrison from the edge of the penalty levelled the scores.
Achilles made changes and man of the match Lee Grimwood rose to the occasion with a brace in the final 20 minutes that keeps Achilles on track for a showdown with Cranes Sports to decide the league winners.
