Club Notes 14 August 2016

Both teams finished off their pre-season fixtures with a double header at hosts, Wickham Market, with a convincing double 5-0 and 4-2. The "star turn" was performed by David Grimwood with, would you believe, a successful strike from the half-way line.

A positive recent development has been the addition of Carl Parsley to the coaching staff and this is an excellent departure for, in particular, Senior managers, Luke Hillyard and Andy Coote. and Inter A counterparts, Reece Nunn and Matt McCarthy.
The season starts in earnest next Saturday with an away game at Leiston SMs and the following Tuesday another away game in the evening at Felixstowe Harpers. These commitments are followed by the Seniors' first home fixture on Saturday the 27th August against promoted Club, Henley.

A necessary development after the "retirement" of ace football secretary, Sue Cook, was the appointment of a competent replacement and, after every attempt to find someone out there, the position has been filled by Pat Morgan who for many seasons has been very much more than just the chairman's technical back-up!!!
