Achilles 5 - 2 Wenhaston United 3/9/16
Achilles were first on the scoresheet in the 10th minute when Keiran Donovan converted Lee Grimwood’s cross from close range. Ashley Canham equalised from the penalty spot minutes later. Wenhaston then enjoyed their best spell of the match and the same player finished confidently when the ball rebounded to him from Toby Westlake’s free kick. Achilles were shocked into action and Danny Allen headed against the post from a corner and then Allen was on the end of a flowing move for the equaliser. A brilliant solo goal by Lee Grimwood saw Achilles 3-2 up at half time.
Achilles dominated the second period and added further goals through Lee Grimwood and a clean strike by Gavin Van Oene. Wenhaston looked dangerous on their, albeit rare, breakaways and Sean Chapman saved well at the feet of Westlake to ensure an emphatic scoreline for Achilles.
