2012-2013 season

Achilles 4 – 1 Ipswich Athletic 1/9/12

Achilles breached the Ipswich Athletic defensive line after just 30 seconds but John Bradbrook was quickly off his line to smother Andy Coote's shot. Home keeper Charters was then called on to dive at the feet of Luke Howes who might have done better after intercepting a stray backpass. Achilles were proving the stronger side and opportunities fell to Luke Hillyard, Andy Coote on the break, Ricky Deasy and Hillyard again before finally Coote provided the cross for Hillyard to put the home side ahead. Kieran Donovan added a second shortly after and further chances for Deasy and Hillyard – a 30 yard drive that skimmed the crossbar – came and went before a flowing move involving Coote, Donovan and Deasy was finished in style by Deasy. Chris Leys, Sean Wright, Coote and Deasy all had chances to increase Achilles' lead before the break.
The second period was again dominated by Achilles with Deasy, Arnold and Hillyard all trying their luck at goal. A slick passing move ended with Coote putting Achilles four up. Micky Adams replaced Coote and had four clearcut scoring opportunities in the final 15 minutes well saved by Bradbrook. Josh Goodwin scored the consolation goal for Ipswich Athletic.
