Achilles 5 - 1 Bramford United 22/10/16

Achilles ran out convincing 5-1 winners in a top of the table clash with Bramford United. Despite Bramford having a fair share of the play, Achilles were three up after half an hour, the result of clinical finishing. The home team took the lead in the 10th minute. Liam Hillyard provided a pinpoint cross that Carl McCarthy powered in with his head. Then, Kieran Donovan met a long free kick just in front of his marker to win an aerial duel that saw the ball deflect into the net. Liam Hillyard added the third with a trademark burst into the penalty area and cross shot. Bramford fought back and won a penalty, converted by Dodsworth, although Chapman went the right way and got a firm hand on it.

Achilles controlled the remainder of the game, with solid performances, notably by the defenders, and added further goals through Donovan and McCarthy to take Achilles to the top of the Senior Division table ahead of Cranes who were without a game.
