With the other title contenders out of action Achilles moved into second place in the league table with a battling performance. The foundation for the win was again laid by a solid defence well marshalled by Sean Bell and Chris Leys, ably supported by the dependable Ross Charters in goal and the return of Brent Richards at full back. The first goal came when Dom Arnold skipped round the goalkeeper and set up Ben Taylor at the far post. The goal was fiercely disputed, but allowed to stand after the referee consulted his assistant. Bergholt came back into the game and should have equalised but Andrew Newman somehow managed to scoop his shot at an empty net over the crossbar. On the hour, a defence splitting pass by Josh Capocci released Joe Revell on the left wing whose cross was returned by Arnold and headed back across the goalkeeper to give Taylor his second.
