Stanton 1 - 5 Achilles 3/12/16
Achilles ran out comfortable winners with a dominating display from the first minute to the last. A quick corner on 5 mins between Gavin Vanoene and Matthew Ryland was flicked in from Achilles forward Carl McCarthy. Stanton goal keeper Chris Adams who was outstanding kept out several efforts including an effort from Lee Grimwood. Daniel Allen's powerful header bounced off the crossbar before David Grimwood also had a header Come off the crossbar. Carl McCarthy doubled the lead with another clever run to header home and just before half time Carl McCarthy completed his hat trick with a neat finish after Lee Grimwood cut the ball back. Stanton made 2 changes at half time and changed formation but this didn't seem to changed the flow of the game with Carl McCarthy grabbing his fourth goal on 53 mins after some neat play between Vanoene, Donavon and Grimwood. Stanton sent in a free kick from the half way line and Micheal Campbell's clever header beat Shaun chaplin. Achilles carried on pressing for more goals and on 75 mins Carl McCarthys fifth goal came from a back heel from a corner to completed the scoring. Some superb goal keeping from Chris Adams of Stanton kept the score down as Achilles recorded another 3 points.
