Achilles took an early lead when David Grimwood drove at the East Bergholt United defence and passed to Liam Hillyard whose first time shot from the edge of the box flew into the top corner. Gary Hammond in the home goal made a two first class saves to keep his side in the game before Hillyard doubled the visitor's lead. East Bergholt pulled a goal back just before half time with an expert Aaron Skeggs free kick from 20 yards.
Achilles had dominated the first half but the second was a different matter. East Bergholt started the half on the front foot and equalised with another well taken goal. The sides were now evenly matched and the 90 minutes finished 2 -2.
Achilles took control in extra time and scored the winning goal with 5 minutes left as Liam Hillyard burst through the East Bergholt defence to stroke the ball past Hammond for his hat trick and a place in the semi final.
