Bramford United 1 - 6 Achilles 11/3/17 SSC QF

Bramford's participation in this season Suffolk Senior Cup, came to an abrupt halt against a strong Achilles side who bossed the match for long periods. Bramford had the chance to take a 10th minute lead when 'keeper Jack Foster's challenge on Jamie Cowan earned him a caution and Bramford a spot kick which saw Neil Calver solid shot hit the near post full on to rebound to safety. 4 minutes later Achilles took the lead when Lee Grimwood fired home through a packed Bramford defence, however within two minutes Bramford were level when a David Shore corner ball saw Achilles fail to clear with Ben Goodchild shot going in off a defender as Achilles struggled to clear. 5 minutes later Liam Hillyard got clear to restore Achilles lead with a powerful shot beating young 'keeper Kieran Petty. Achilles now started to control the match which saw Hillyard score his second with a simple tap in at the near post. With Bramford stretched just on half time Neil Calver gave away a penalty with Hillyard making no mistake.

Bramford came under heavy pressure in the second half with Hillyard scoring his fourth on 65 minutes. Bramford came back at times but Achilles defence were proving too strong with some deft tackles. Bramford's Jean Pierre Akakpo squandered a good chance as he got clear. Foster's outstretched leg saved his shot. Gavin Vanoene scored Achilles sixth with a late penalty.
