Achilles 3 - 0 Framlingham (Suffolk Senior Cup)

The only first round Suffolk Senior Cup tie resulted in a 3-0 win for Ipswich side and cup holders Achilles.  Sporting a young team, Framlingham Town dominated the early exchanges but were unable to create good goal scoring chances.  As Achilles settled, Lee Grimwood hit the post with a cross shot and Framlingham's Danny Smith saw his lob clear the home custodian and bounce back to the keeper off the far post.  The deadlock was broken in the 40th minute when Lee GRIMWOOD evaded the attentions of his marker in the penalty area to stroke his shot under the Framlingham keeper. Achilles' second would have graced any game: Liam Hillyard turned and drove to the byline and his cross was slid in at the far post by Ivan BUXTON.

Framlingham Town had the lion's share of possession in the second half, but failed to penetrate the Achilles rearguard, where Benneworth and Merrett were particularly impressive.  Achilles added a third just before the end, BUXTON running unmarked on to Garrad's neat pass through the middle.
