Hoxne 3 - 3 Achilles 30/9/17

Achilles opened the scoring in the 10th minute. A good forward run by Kieran Donovan set up Danny Garrad, whose shot rebounded off the post into the path of Hoxne centre half Kevin Riches who miskicked into his own goal.  Hoxne were exposing weaknesses in the Achilles defence and were rewarded with a penalty confidently converted by Nathan Stiles. Achilles went ahead again from a corner (that should have been a goal kick!), the ball forced home by Donovan.  Hoxne equalised almost straight from the kick off through a brilliant solo dribble by Artur Leszcynski to make it 2-2 at the break.

Hoxne took the lead midway through the 2nd half from another Stiles penalty.  Achilles reorganised and pushed Robert Bucys and Josh Merrett forward.  Hoxne held out until the 85th minute when the equaliser eventually came from the head of Liam Hillyard.  Achilles could have snatched the winner in injury time.  Bucys hooked the ball goalward over the head of the keeper, it looked to be going in, but Hillyard, sliding in to make sure, pushed the ball wide of the goal.
