Achilles - 5 Bramford United 4/11/17

Dale Munson scored a hat trick as League leaders Achilles lost their unbeaten record to Bramford United and dropped to third in the SIL table.

Dale Munson gave Bramford a dream start with a stunning 30 yard drive that gave Chaplin no chance. Liam Heffer-Thorpe saved well at the feet of Lee Grimwood. He was then fortunate to survive a confident Achilles penalty claim after a challenge on the same player. Lloyd Dodsworth doubled Bramford’s lead directly from a corner before Liam Hillyard pulled one back heading in Joe Revel’s pinpoint cross.

On 55 minutes, Mandley scored Bramford’s third after Achilles failed to clear. Lee Grimwood was tripped in the penalty area, and Heffer-Thorpe dived to his left to save Hillyard’s spot kick. Achilles were making little headway against an inspired Bramford team that were pressing high and tigerish in the tackle. In the final 10 minutes Munson completed his hat trick with a fierce drive from the edge of the box and a well taken penalty.
