Felixstowe Harpers 1 - 6 Achilles 9/12/17
Achilles toppled league leaders Felixstowe Harpers and jump to second place one point behind Cranes Sports but with three games in hand.
Achilles took the lead from a Danny Garrad free kick to the far post where Keiran Donovan outjumped the goalkeeper to head home. The roles were reversed as Donovan set up Garrad to hit a blistering shot to double the lead. Gavin Van Oene added a third before Joe Revel’s cross from the right wing dropped in off the far post to give Achilles a four goal half time lead.
Felixstowe rallied at the start of the second period, struck the crossbar twice and were thwarted by a super double save by Shaun Chaplin. As the game got stretched Achilles added further goals through David Grimwood and Ivan Buxton. Tye Webb scored a consolation for Felixstowe in the dying minutes.
