Achilles 6 - 2 East Bergholt 17/2/18
Achilles extended their lead at the top of the senior division to 8 points after comfortably beating East Bergholt. 2 early goals from Lee Grimwood and Danny Garrad set Achilles on their way. David Grimwood’s clever run and shot crept in past Gary Hammond in the Bergholt goal. Bergholt managed their first shot on goal on the stroke of half time but Chaplin saved well with his feet. East Bergholt made a change at half time and brought Moughton on and pushed Achilles looking for a goal but a counter attack by Achilles was finished off by Darren Van Oene for 4-0. Poor play between sub Ashley Smith and goal keeper Chaplin allowed Heathcoate to slot home for Bergholt. Achilles sub Gavin Vanoene came off the bench to score a double one being a free kick from 25 yards. Scoring was complete when an unstoppable penalty by Peck for Bergholt gave Achilles keeper no chance.
