Club Notes 27 September 2018

Double success for the two squads last Saturday with the Seniors, despite several regulars missing, managing to secure all three points at lowly Grundisburgh via the odd goal in five. Our host had some justification in reflecting adversely on the performance of the "man in the middle" with some decisions seemly and surprisingly favouring ourselves. Our marksmen were Connor Field and Gavin Van Oene (2) with one of the latter's efforts a fantastic direct corner strike.

Meanwhile, at Salmet Close, the Reserves, coincidentally, were successful by the same odd goal in five against a very talented Framlingham Town side in an attractive encounter well refereed by a very experienced official. Our marksmen were Lewis Aubrey and "Scoop" McCarthy (2), the latter making a most welcome return after a nasty injury.

This week the Seniors welcome Wenhaston United to Salmet Close while the Reserves make the short journey to Greshams for a League "A" match against Coplestonians Reserves.

Latest 100 Club winners were No: 10 Ann Routh and No: 32 Alma Lancaster.
Very late news indicate that, due to varied work and family commitments, successful manager, Luke Hillyard, has had to resign from his duties. For the foreseeable future, assistant manager, Andy Coote, and coach, Trevor Childs, will be taking over.
