Achilles 3 - 1 Coplestonians 12/1/19
Achilles got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win against an in-form Coplestonians. The two goalkeepers made athletic saves as chances were created at both ends, but it was the home side that took the lead on the half hour when Darren Van Oene’s inviting cross was converted by the experienced Andy Coote.
Achilles doubled their advantage early in the second half after Lewis Kincaid’s effort was parried by the goalkeeper and Ivan Buxton drove the rebound home through a packed penalty area. A splendid free kick 25 yards out by Cops’ Jack Dawson provided the highlight of the match as it swerved and dipped into the top corner. Connor Field restored Achilles’ two goal advantage directly from a corner kick as the A’s dominated the final stages.
