Achilles 3 - 2 Haughley United 26/1/19
Haughley took the lead after 20 minutes when Reece Golding outpaced the home defence and rounded the goalkeeper. Achilles finished the half strongly but were unable to apply the finishing touch to some good approach play.
Achilles started the second half on top and Gavin Van Oene equalised with an accurate shot to the corner of the goal. Danny Crump saved well as Will Wharton-Richardson broke clear for the visitors. Van Oene then put Achilles ahead from the penalty spot after Ryan Wragg was up-ended and Connor Field increased Achilles’ lead neatly converting a teasing Ivan Buxton cross from the right wing. Haughley responded immediately and cut through the home defence to give Jamie Smith the easiest of tap-ins. Achilles survived a nervy final 10 minutes to take the points.
