Achilles 4 - 4 Bourne Vale 7/9/19

Honours finished even in the Ipswich local derby in a high scoring entertaining contest at Salmet Close. Achilles scored first after just 5 minutes, Hanley setting up Wragg who had time to pick his spot in the corner of the net. Four goals were scored in a mad five minutes before half time. Dunn equalised with a bullet shot and then, almost immediately after the restart, the same player put Vale ahead shooting through a packed penalty area. Achilles drew level as Buxton volleyed home and then on the stroke of half time Hanley converted Beeston’s cross to restore Achilles’ lead.

Fox broke clear to equalise for Vale in the 47th minutes and Webb put them ahead from close range with 15 minutes remaining. Achilles brought on the prolific Liam Hillyard for his first appearance of the season and he duly delivered by deflecting a free kick past the goalkeeper with time running out.
