Coplestonians 0 - 1 Achilles 14/9/19
Achilles needed to improve on recent outings against high flying, previously unbeaten opponents. And, indeed, the team duly obliged, producing their best performance so far this term. The inclusion of Andy Coote at centre half tightened a leaky defence and there were notable contributions by Wragg, Beeston, Hanley, Buxton and Codrington had his best game of the season.
The goal came from a speculative long range effort by leading scorer Sean Hanley that dipped in over the keeper. Coplestonians had a free kick well saved at the foot of the post and hit the post in the second half, but on balance Achilles thoroughly deserved the 3 points.
