Achilles 5-0 Melton St Audrys 14/9/2013

In the end Achilles ran out comfortable winners, but for the first 10 minutes Melton looked very dangerous and only desperate defending kept the home side on terms. Then, Achilles were awarded a free kick just outside the Melton penalty area and Dominic Arnold's curling shot was turned round the post. From the resulting corner, Andy Coote's header struck the bar, bounced down and the alert referee's assistant signalled for a goal. From that point on Achilles took control and added a further four goals in the second period.

A ragged offside line allowed Liam Hillyard to get behind the defence to cross for Joe Revel to double the lead. Andy Coote scored the third before Melton's Sam Baker saw his header cannon off the crossbar. Achilles' fourth came again from a cross that Danny Barnett failed to hang on to, Joe Revel calmly placing his shot past the defender on the line. Chris Leys could have added to the home tally but for a point blank save by Barnett. In the final minutes Coote completed his hat trick volleying through a bunch of players.
