Achilles, the Touchline Suffolk and Ipswich League's form team, made it 13 points out of a possible 15 for 2013 with a competent 3-0 result and move into fourth place. Jack Wilkinson opened the scoring after 20 minutes with a delightful curled shot into the top corner. Mark Lowe should have doubled the lead but managed to scoop Ben Taylor's inviting cross over the crossbar from 6 yards.

Achilles were establishing a stranglehold on the game and only the safe hands of the impressive Craig Brand in the Old Newton goal kept the score at 1-0 until midway through the second half when Jack Wilkinson was tripped as he turned past Dean Pleasance and Dom Arnold scored from the spot with a sweetly struck shot that Brand got his fingertips to but couldn't keep out. Mark Lowe added a third with a solo effort running in from 30 yards and finishing with style through the keeper's legs as he came forward. The match was well refereed by the excellent Mr Toby Cousins and his assistants.
